SHOULD KAI HAVERTZ BE CHELSEA'S NUMBER 9?

Should Kai Havertz be Chelsea's number 9? That's the question I am asking ALL the Chelsea fans watching this video.

I do not think that Kai Havertz should play in the number 9 position because for me, he is a number ten playing behind the striker because that is his best position. It's his most natural position and let's face it, Roman Abramovich paid a record transfer fee for Havertz as exactly that!

Thomas Tuchel has explained his reasons for playing Kai Havertz as Chelsea's number nine in his 3-4-3 formation and said: I think that Kai feels very comfortable in high positions. I feel he is very comfortable going to drop into half-spaces from the high position, to turn and drive with the ball and use his speed. But he also arrives very naturally in the box and the six-yard box, to finish our attacks.

He's comfortable in finishing, he's strong in finishing. He can clearly play as a No 9, he can play as a half-striker or as a winger. These are his positions and today we used him as a number nine and I'm happy. Unfortunately, he could not finish like his finishes in training and like his talents allow him to finish because we had enough chances. It's a position where he feels comfortable and I trust him in this position.'

Against Leeds, we had both Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner on the bench who are both naturally suited to the number nine position. Why are we trying to shoe-horn players into roles that do not suit them?
