Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech - A chance to finally shine at Chelsea.

Hakim Ziyech, the oldest of the three was signed by Chelsea shortly after we had witnessed his quality first-hand in the Champions League last season. An exciting talent with a wand of a left foot who could pick passes out of nowhere and score a goal or two, we couldn’t wait to see the influence he would have at our club. He is a special talent in my view and someone who has an aura, a presence that you rarely see these days.
Injured in pre-season, back fit and playing, to then break down with injury again, it hasn’t been easy for Ziyech to adjust to life in England. A change of manager and formation hasn’t helped either with him being asked to adjust his natural role to a number ten which in my view doesn’t suit.
However, he has scored two-in-two and is playing with confidence which we all hope carries forward between now and the end of the season. You could decide to spend your money at new casinos online USA rather than bet on Chelsea but, in saying that, I would also keep an eye on what happens at Stamford Bridge to ensure you do not miss out.
Kai Havertz, another of Europe’s brightest talents, and one scouted by all the bigger reputation clubs around Europe, Havertz had come to prominence at Bayer Leverkusen as the focal point of the side. He would create and score goals being given the freedom to venture forward and dictate the pace of their play. He had to learn quickly that it would not be the case here.
Chelsea’s record signing has also found it tough to come to terms with life in England and the Premier League. Asked to play in a number of positions to cover injuries early in the season, to then contract COVID19, face recovery, and battle back to match fitness, Kai Havertz had never really got going in a Chelsea shirt.
Now, under Thomas Tuchel ready to challenge for a place in the side he has had to be patient in the beginning, but of late, he has had a real influence and it’s good to see.
Timo Werner is the one player that is judged more than anyone else since he arrived at Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer. One of Europe’s hotshots and a force to be reckoned with in front of goal, Werner’s exploits in the Bundesliga and the Champions League had caught plenty of attention. Chelsea sold their vision for the future with Timo Werner leading our attack and the deal was complete.
With any striker, no matter the ability and what team you are playing for, you are judged mainly on goals. The stats that are entered into the record books at the end of the season is what many forms their opinions, but it doesn’t tell the whole story.
Werner has featured more than double the number of games that Kai Havertz has started this season and triple what Hakim Ziyech has. He has been asked to fill in positions with the team lacking due to injuries. Having arrived in a new country and a new league, he has never had enough time to play in a single position to adapt, to settle down, and to find his form and it shows.
Despite that, and this is what has really impressed me about him this season, he keeps going. The lack of goals is due to the arguments stated but, he has still played a key role in games winning penalties, creating assists, or just being involved in our attacking play that forces the opposition to try and deal with the God-given pace he has. That’s important to point out.
For all three, we enter the final months of the season with some massive games coming up. We have a real chance to challenge for honours in the Champions League, FA Cup and finish inside the top four. It’s a massive opportunity to make their mark at Chelsea and turn what has been a frustrating start to life at Chelsea, into something incredible.
