How will Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea approach the transfer window this summer?

When a football club decides to make a managerial change halfway through a season and a replacement comes in, the general opinion is that the new man in charge will work with what he has until the end of the season, but in the summer, he would want to make changes to stamp his authority on the squad to mold into what he wants. Just how many changes will Thomas Tuchel decide to make and in what areas when the transfer window opens?

Ask anyone in football at the time Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Chelsea’s manager, the general consensus was that he has a squad of immense quality and exciting potential coupled with experience that should be challenging for honours at the end of the season. Instead, you would have placed bets elsewhere other than on Chelsea's fortunes at bestaustraliancasinosites online casino instead. 

For whatever reason under the previous manager, the team failed to improve on an outstanding performance under the various restrictions we all knew of last season finishing fourth. With heavy, unrivalled investment back in the summer, with some of European football’s hottest properties, you would have expected Chelsea to lead the charge to close the gap on Liverpool. It never played out that way and Tuchel walked into a dressing room that had been underperforming for too long. 

Move forward fourteen games and two months later, the transformation is immense. You would have rather spent your money at real money casinos rather than back Chelsea.  The manager has been able to extract the best out of players who looked like their immediate Chelsea futures were under threat in addition to those that had regularly featured this season. 

The tactical shape suits two-thirds of our team and the players being utilised to feature in each individual role. Upfront is a different story for different reasons but the potential for it to click into place is there. Players are being asked to adapt to new roles, to deliver as quickly as possible and everyone seems to have been given a chance by Thomas Tuchel to this point. 

Chelsea have so much to play for between now and the end of the season so it will be interesting to see the big-name players and how they can adapt and make their mark under Tuchel. What happens will have a major bearing on a potential change in the summer. If it goes well for us, I see little incomings maybe just one or two positions to keep things fresh. If it doesn’t go as well as planned, we could see a number of changes being made. 

I honestly look at our squad now, look at the players out on loan who are due back at the end of the season, and believe that we do not need to spend money like we did last summer for a while. We have so much quality, so much potential, and a good age that this squad could evolve together over the next five years to become the next dominant force in the Premier League. 

I just hope that everyone involved in transfer activity at our football club this summer feels the same.
