Chelsea 2-0 Atletico Madrid tonight in the Champions League. Over the two legs, the team flying high in La Liga was bullied, bossed, and made to look ordinary by outstanding Chelsea tonight.
It was a game we all thought would be tough. Diego Simeone without injuries or suspensions would bring a team to Stamford Bridge to play on the front foot and attack Chelsea. With Thiago Silva, Jorginho, and Mason Mount all missing with Andreas Christensen a late withdrawal through illness, it seemed that it would be a hard game for us tonight with plenty of Chelsea fans worldwide sceptical about our chances.
What played out, following on from the first leg was something none of us expected. Diego Simeone's side looked ordinary, mediocre at best and void of ideas as to counteract our formation. Chelsea always had the extra man in midfield and we played to our advantage.
Goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson wrapped up the tie taking Chelsea through to the Champions League Quarter-Finals in a dominant and outstanding performance.
In the video, I discuss in more detail how impressive we were with special mentions for Kai Havertz and of course, MOTM N'Golo Kante, however, it is worth mentioning that to a man I thought we were outstanding!
