Two Players that Can Take Chelsea to the Next Level
Chelsea spent over £220 million in the summer. The Blues brought in excellent attacking talent in the form of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and ...
With the addition of Edouard Mendy, they also found themselves a top-notch goalkeeper at a knock-down price thanks to Petr Cech's excellent work on the transfer.
However, despite Chelsea now looking like a much more dangerous team, there are still a couple of positions that the Blues could strengthen in future transfer windows.
Here are two players that the Blues are rumoured to be interested in that would take them to the next level should they bring them in.
Declan Rice
Declan Rice seems destined to one day play for Chelsea once again. The England international was part of Chelsea's academy before he was released when he was 14.
Since then he has turned into one of the best midfielders in the EPL and clubs that would like to bring him in now would have to pay north of £70 million to the Hammers for his services.
Chelsea seem to have a knack for letting excellent players leave before they have been given the proper chance, and Declan Rice is a great example of this.
The player was apparently going through a growth spurt when Chelsea decided to let him go and was the victim of being a jack of all trades but a master at none in his early days. Rice was played in various positions due to his versatility so he couldn't make one position truly his.
Ironically, that versatility is exactly why Chelsea are trying to resign Rice right now. He would be able to play in both central defence and midfield, two areas of the pitch where Chelsea need reinforcements.
David Alaba
Chelsea might have a real chance of resigning Declan Rice because the player seems to relish the idea of joining his former team again. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with David Alaba.
Alaba didn't extend his Bayern Munich contract and is now free to talk to other clubs over a move. Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in signing the Austrian international, but he seems to have his heart set on a Real Madrid move.
Should Chelsea manage to beat off interest from the Madrid club, they would be getting themselves a world-class player that would instantly improve their defensive solidity.
Like Rice, Alaba is very versatile too. He can play in the centre or on the left in both defence and midfield. However, unlike Rice, he has played at the top level for several years now and has been part of one of the best teams in the world.
If you are looking for a proven winner, then you cannot go wrong with a former Bayern Munich star. The Bavarian club's scouts know a good prospect when they see one and always do their homework diligently. After all, they were interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi for £30 million when the rest of the football world didn't know anything about him.
Buying a player from Bayern is much like an experienced Finnish casino enthusiast looking for the best online casinos that accept Finnish players. For the veteran Finnish player, going to websites such as Casino Bee Finland is the logical thing to do as they cover all the details of an online casino, meaning he cannot go wrong if he opts for a casino listed there.
Signing Alaba would be a great sign of intent for the Chelsea board as it would re-establish Chelsea as one of the dominant clubs in world football. As such, the Austrian is definitely a player that the club must try to get.
