Welcome to the Chelsea news in five minutes here on the channel with updates on Fikayo Tomori, Declan Rice, and Erling Haaland.
AC Milan are close to agreeing a deal to sign Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori on loan with a £25m option to buy.
Milan have been tracking the 23-year-old, along with Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan, their initial principle target.
But with Simakan out for around two months as he requires surgery, a move to the San Siro for Tomori now looks more likely if the two clubs can thrash out the details.
West Ham United manager David Moyes has issued an update on Declan Rice’s future at the club amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
Rice is a transfer target for Chelsea, with manager Frank Lampard said to be viewing him as a priority for the club in the coming summer transfer window.
The Blues reportedly explored the option of signing the 22-year-old midfielder in the summer, only to be deterred by West Ham’s £80million valuation.
Rice has been consistently impressive for the Hammers this season, playing every minute of their 18 matches in the Premier League and establishing himself as a leader in the middle of the pitch.
Chelsea could steal a march on a number of top European clubs by shelling out a club-record fee for Erling Haaland THIS summer.
Haaland, 20, has been a revelation at Dortmund, who he joined from RB Salzburg in January 2020 – scoring 35 goals in as many appearances for them.
It’s understood he’s caught the eye of a number of top European clubs, with Manchester City and Manchester United previously being linked to him. He is thought to favour a move to Real Madrid, however.
But potential suitors have been put off by the fact the striker’s release clause – said to be £66m – doesn’t come into effect until 2022, meaning a much larger price will have to be spent to land him sooner.
The Athletic, though, reports Chelsea will move before their rivals and try and will pay what it takes to land the quality frontman they’re desperate for.
