Is Tammy Abraham untouchable? Would a potential new signing be given a chance?

With all the transfer speculation regarding strikers potentially arriving during the transfer window, I just wanted to ask the question - Who could replace Tammy Abraham and will they be given the opportunity?

First and foremost Tammy Abraham has been outstanding for us so far this season. He is performing above and beyond expectations with twelve Premier League goals to this point. As a result Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud have seen their involvement in the first team reduce to bit-part at best. Michy Batshuayi has played as second choice after his return to Chelsea from his loan spells away but Olivier Giroud has only started two games at the beginning of the season with nothing more.

We read on a daily basis that Giroud wants to move with plenty of teams reportedly interested in signing him. Frank Lampard has confirmed that if the deal suits everyone then he will be allowed to leave as featured in my Chels Daft 5-Minute News below:

With Giroud looking likely to leave we need a replacement but who would want to come to Chelsea and potentially play as a backup to Abraham? Is the likes of Moussa Dembele, Timo Werner or Gabriel Barbosa happy to come to Chelsea knowing that they have to fight for a place that potentially isn’t there? Will they want to give up the regular starts they all have at their current clubs or potentially look at alternative options to move elsewhere?

The important thing for Chelsea here is that we can get someone in to provide immediate competition for the start in the side with Tammy Abraham. You MUST have competition for places to keep everyone focused and on their toes knowing that a bad performance in training or on the football pitch on a match day could lead to being replaced. Anything other than that in my view is a pointless signing.
