So to the main article featured on the Official Website HERE - and the results are interesting with one or two players who have featured prominently over the past ten years being left out. There is no Cesar Azpilicueta or Cesc Fabregas for example which is a surprise.
The Official Team of the Decade Voted by Chelsea Supporters is as below:
Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Essien, Kante, Lampard, Willian, Drogba and Hazard.
Now that is an outstanding team that would challenge any side in any season for the Premier League Title, Champions League and domestic cup competitions without question, but that about the players that missed out?
Here is MY second string that missed out below:
Courtois, Ferreira, Luiz, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Ramires, Oscar, Mata, Fabregas, Anelka, Costa.
In some positions it was hard to select based on the fact that the players named in the main team of the decade had been in place for so long, making the position their own. There is always a difference of opinion and that's why Football is what it is, a game of opinion.
It's also important to list the other players that made important contributions with teams that won trophies (or gave us moments we will never forget) who missed out on either team as below:
Alex, Jose Bosingwa, Jon Obi Mikel, Florent Malouda, Fernando Torres, Salomon Kalou, Ryan Betrand, Raul Meireles, Victor Moses, Demba Ba, Andre Schurrle, Nemanja Matic, Samuel Eto'o, Filipe Luis, Pedro, Marcos Alonso, Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud.
What a decade of football it has been for Chelsea and us supporters. We continued to build on the success that had started in 2004/5 into the new decade by literally winning it all - something that none of those supporters that used to attend Stamford Bridge through the eighties and early nineties could ever have predicted.

It's been an amazing decade and one that will live with us forever no matter what happens moving forward. The Champions League in Munich, back-to-back European titles with the Europa League title in the following season and again last year. Three FA Cup's and the League Cup.
Our Academy has continued to work hard to become the most successful in the country with their amazing achievements listed by CarefreeYouth above. Some of those players now play in our first-team and have become prominent players that will hopefully feature throughout the team of the next decade in the future. Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Fikayo Tomori, Reece James and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.We have so many more on the horizon.
I will say this, our club puts us through it at times one way or another but we love it. I have been heading to Chelsea since 1979/80 and have seen everything from electric fences, second division football to a Premier League and Cup double, other Premier League titles to the Champions League. Never in my lifetime would I ever had imagined sitting here looking back at a golden era at our club.
Now, moving forward we have a club legend at the helm to lead us forward into the new decade with hope, optimism and excitement. Despite all the success which is something that we have got used to because there has been so much, we know this is a time where mentalities and expectations have shifted temporarily for a year or two to enable Frank Lampard, Jody Morris and the rest of his coaching team to put in place their philosophy, their style and to ensure that everyone knows just what it means to be Chelsea and how hard we worked to have the levels of success we have had to put us up there is one of the elite in Europe.
I wish you all a Happy New Year, celebrate the decade we have had and raise a glass to the new era which hopefully will be just as successful!
