With the Premier League season set to take over football fans' lives once again in the coming days, there a lot of questions surrounding those sides involved in the English top-flight.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the campaign will be how Chelsea will manage under the guidance of their new coach and club legend Frank Lampard, after he was announced as the successor to former boss Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer has a huge task on his hands on his return to Stamford Bridge as a manager and the coming campaign will reveal a lot early on.
The Blues are one of the bigger outsiders to secure a stunning title success under Lampard this coming campaign and can be backed at a sizeable 40/1 through the Premier League betting options on betfair to achieve such a feat.
That is perhaps a step too far for Lampard in his maiden season in charge, but there are several looming questions for fans ahead of the 2019/20 campaign kicking off.
Can Frank Lampard
learn quickly?
It's hard to believe that Lampard only made his managerial debut last year
when he took charge of Championship club Derby County, considering he is now in
the hotseat for one of the biggest teams in England's top tier division and
across Europe as a whole. Despite that lack of experience, the now 41-year-old still managed to oversee the Rams' run to the final of the playoffs, where they were toppled by Aston Villa.
Following that early promise in the Midlands, Chelsea saw no problem in risking Lampard as their latest managerial appointment and he will have to learn quickly on the job in order to avoid becoming another sacking victim at the club he is already regarded as a legend.
Will attacking
ranks miss Eden Hazard?
The departure of former star man Eden Hazard was undoubtedly a massive blow
to the Blues' attacking ranks, especially when the club is currently involved in a transfer ban and a lack of replacements were gained over the
summer window. In truth, yes the Belgian will be missed. He was key to the club's success for many seasons and will no doubt help Real Madrid this term.
But his absence gives plenty of opportunities to others to step up and make a name for themselves under Lampard.
Will the transfer ban hurt chances?
That brings us to our next big question: will the transfer ban have a large impact on the squad throughout this season? The Blues did appeal the decision but they have signed no one this summer and are relying on what they have.
Lampard's job is, therefore, a lot harder without any fresh faces but he still has a host of quality players to help him steer the club towards success.
Is the top four realistic?
With this being Lampard's first season in the Stamford Bridge dugout it's too early to be considering the club as title challengers. But what about a top-four finish?Manchester City and Liverpool will likely be ahead of the pack again but who's to say Lampard can't make a gallant return to Chelsea and surprise a few people?
A top-four position is still a target after last term and securing such a feat would boost Lampard's ever growing reputation as a young coach for sure.
