Eden
Hazard faces what could possibly be the final few weeks of his Chelsea career
leading our charge for the top four and Europa League. Is there anything that
could see him decide to stay in London and possibly regret it for the rest of
his career?
Listen, I am of the opinion that because of what he
has achieved at our club, because of his overall performance since he signed
for the club and the levels he has personally reached so far whilst playing in
Chelsea blue, he can do what he likes in the summer and I will still love him,
wishing him well for the future.
It’s hard to say really but I know that most Chelsea
fans will feel the same sentiment about him. For someone who has played like he
has, who always speaks well and has never said a bad word of our club, we must
accept what seems like the inevitable at the end of the season – a move to Real Madrid for over £100m.
I say that but of course as with everyone else, we are looking for something that will keep him here. We are looking for that glimmer that will appeal to him to remain in London and hopefully back in the Champions League next season with Chelsea. Surely that would appeal to Hazard who is settled here along with his family.

The problem is, and he has never hidden the fact either,
to play for Real Madrid was always been a dream for the Belgian. To then be given that opportunity to decide? If he decides against it then I believe it could
turn out to be something that he regrets for the rest of his life despite his
love for our club and the Premier League.
In my opinion, if he decides to go to Madrid, he
will take time to settle in but quickly become one of the best players in La Liga
and the world to be considered on the same level as Lionel Messi. He would be
expected to score plenty of goals too which is something that I am sure he would
have no problem with based on how much of an inferior league it is overall
compared to the overall quality we have here. If anything, could be potentially
become bored of the lack of competition with the same teams beating those below
them week-in, week-out?
Everyone talks of Lionel Messi and his amazing goal-scoring
record in La Liga – rightly so, but do you think he would reach the same levels
if he played here? If anything, the fact that Eden Hazard has scored nineteen
goals this season so far to match his best scoring season is even more impressive
based on how hard our league is to win a single point each week!
Eden Hazard’s goal against West Ham on Monday Night is
the goal of the season without question and demonstrated just how good he has become
in England. Literally slaloming through four defenders, left-foot, right-foot
to then move the ball into a position to fire home into the bottom corner with
his left foot, knowing that he was about to be clattered by a last-ditch
challenge from the last defender was simply sublime. If that was Messi, we
wouldn’t hear the end of it.

It’s now his influence on that football pitch wherever
we play that has become impressive. He now has that aura about him, defenders
are too scared to dive into tackling him when he turns and faces them with the ball
at his feet, they will do anything to stop him which the stats will tell you is
the reason that he has become the most fouled player out there. He is sensational
and at times like on Monday night, unplayable.
If, and it is a big if, we can take the three points
against Liverpool on Sunday to spoil their party again, we would need Eden
Hazard to be at his mouthwatering best. If he can deliver a single moment of
magic whether to create or score the winner, to then feel the elation of the
supporters, his teammates and the club as we seek Champions League football,
then surely it can be a reminder of what he has here at this club. To then kick
on finishing the season strong reaching our aim in the Premier League to then
go on and hopefully win the Europa League, there could be a slim chance of him
staying to lead the Champions League charge next season.
We sit here to wait and see what happens. As I said,
although everything points to him leaving, we must believe he could still
change his mind.
