Chelsea drew 0-0 against Everton at Stamford Bridge on remembrance Sunday and it turned out to be an afternoon of frustration for many reasons. A positive is that Maurizio Sarri becomes the first new manager in the Premier League to go twelve games unbeaten.
You have to credit Marco Silva's Everton side who came here with a game-plan, stuck to it throughout and gained an important point to give them confidence.
Here are some points of note discussed in more detail in today's Vlog below:
- Chelsea started too slow, too laboured - Sarri frustrated as happened three games in-a-row.
- No real width in the first half - Hazard/Willian looking to come inside to an already condensed midfield.
- Jorginho unable to create and influence the game from his position - eventually substituted.
- Ross Barkley let nerves get the better of him when he came on after receiving abuse from the Everton fans as he warmed up to come on.
- Alvaro Morata needs to stand up and to stop moaning at the officials.
- Better 2nd half, played with width and created plenty of space
- Jordan Pickford outstanding.
- Disappointing and frustrating afternoon for all of us.
What did you think of the performance yesterday, the team selection and the way we played? Should we credit Everton?
