Chelsea take on Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime and in my view it's the first time that Maurizio Sarri has had a real selection headache ahead of any Premier League game this season.
There have been games when there has been one or two changes but not too many, this has been about squad rotation if anything due to the hectic schedule we have had in recent times. Now, returning from the international break, with players playing well and impressing with others with slight knocks or returning from injury, there are some important decisions to be made and to try and guess how we line-up could prove difficult so why not try this Video slots bonus code instead?
Toni Rudiger who has been the most impressive of our back four this year is the only player confirmed to have returned to Chelsea injured. Whether or not he has a slight knock that he can recover from or serious enough to keep him out is yet to be seen. Ideally, we want him to recover to continue his excellent form but who should replace him?
The timing is perfect for Andreas Christensen who has publicly spoken of his frustrations at the lack of playing time this year compared to being a first-team regular last time around under Antonio Conte. Sarri would be looking to entrust Christensen to combine with David Luiz to provide a solid base but in my view are similar players.
Gary Cahill, linked again with a move away from Chelsea in January, has an opportunity to play alongside the Brazilian as they know each other's games better and have plenty of big game experience. Cahill plays as the main man-marker with Luiz as the cover and that would provide Sarri with the perfect foil up against Romelu Lukaku with both knowing his game/style inside out.
In midfield Ross Barkley has made a fantastic case for his start ahead of Mateo Kovacic with his most recent performance for Chelsea at Southampton in addition to his performance for England in the victory over Spain on Monday. In my view he starts but Kovacic will more than likely get the nod as we know that the boss likes to limit the amount of changes he makes to a settled side.
In attack Eden Hazard plays alongside Olivier Giroud but there is now a decision to be made whether Pedro or William start in this one. Pedro appeared to have the nod at the beginning of the season but of late Willian has impressed. We know that Sarri does plenty of homework and would have used this period of two weeks to prepare for the next two or three games. That could prove to be decisive with Pedro's pace causing the United back four problems in the past.
Whoever Sarri decides to start with Chelsea will be the favourites on paper based on our unbeaten start and current form. Early domination of possession coupled with an early goal would unravel the defensive stance that we expect United to adopt. However, I would imagine Jose packing his midfield with defensive minded players and man-marking Eden Hazard to make life difficult.
It's a game we need to win and in my view based on current form, anything less than three points would be disappointing.
My predicted starting eleven for Saturday:
Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, Hazard, Giroud and Pedro.
COME ON CHELSEA!
