Living not so far away from Windsor, the whole Royal Wedding build-up is doing my head in and for me, the Chelsea and Manchester United fans - there is only one major even taking place and that's the FA Cup Final.
You can forget the morning/early afternoon romance and concentrate ourselves in our labour of love - Football and two coaches who haven't exactly seen eye-to-eye this season. Jose Mourinho takes his over-achieving Manchester United side to Wembley to take on our boys under Antonio Conte (for the time being) with a chance to put right the wrongs of last year. It's a mouth-watering occasion and the end of season showpiece given that extra spice which will hopefully live up to expectations of being a cracker and not a dull, drawn-out affair.
Both teams come into the game looking to salvage something from their season with Chelsea being the most desperate having missed out on the top four. With the speculation surrounding the future of Antonio Conte and some of his players intensifying this week, we as Chelsea fans are looking for a reaction, we are looking for a performance to end the season on a high.
I am sincerely hoping that we have seen the worst of this team already this season with Newcastle last week being only beaten to the worst performance of the season for what we had to sit there and witness at The Etihad against Manchester City. I have everything crossed that we are nowhere as bad tomorrow.
That's the thing though with Chelsea isn't it. We move quickly from the sublime to the ridiculous, so much so we simply have no clue what team will turn up and what mentality they will start the game with. However, Chelsea fans will realise within the first five minutes of this one tomorrow if we have a chance of winning it.
We can beat anyone on our day and play people off the park as we have seen in small glimpses this season. In order to do so we MUST play with the right formation 3-5-1-1 and the three-man midfield. We also have to get the best out of Eden Hazard because he could win the game for us on his own.
I have stated that I believe Manchester United to be over-achievers because just look at their back-four and tell me otherwise! How on earth have they managed to get away with Ashley Young as a full-back and Chris Smalling alongside Victor Lindelof ? They have a shocking defence and need to be tested here tomorrow.
I have posted two additional articles that tie in with this one ahead of the game. In one of them Cesc Fabregas is quoted challenging his team-mates to have the fire in them to give 120% to win the game and the other is my opinion on how Tiemoue Bakayoko can become a key component in how we can beat United (so make sure you check them out!) because our three-man midfield will cause them problems and Matic is the only naturally defensive minded player in that area they have. Paul Pogba is a liability without the ball and hopefully we can pin Bakayoko on Herrera if he starts which is a battle he is more than capable of winning to give Eden Hazard the space to play.
We have it in us to beat Manchester United and to win the game well. However, as we have seen this season, it's one thing to say that but to then go out and do it is another.
The game can go either way - I just hope it isn't a dull drawn-out affair!
COME ON CHELSEA FFS!
