I can't stand Liverpool, there I've said it and I don't care despite the media falling in love with Jurgen Klopp's side. I hope they get battered by Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League!
I was listening to talkSport the other night and Jason Cundy hosting the phone-in shortly after the Liverpool game with Roma. The question asked on the night was should as an Englishman who is proud of the Premier League, support other English clubs in Europe such as Liverpool and want them to do well.
As you can imagine, there were very varied opinions on the subject but for me - no chance. You will not find me supporting Liverpool in the final, far from it. As I said, I hope Real Madrid batter them and bring them back down a peg or two in the final.
I am a Chelsea fan and have been all my life and there is only one club for me. I want to see US do well, I want to see us win trophies and be successful because that's just the mentality for me and how I grew up. I live and breathe Chelsea and stood there in the old "Shed End" through the 80's when we were shit but was still proud to stand there and support my local team.
I admit to being lucky enough to live in an era of Roman Abramovich and what we have achieved since he arrived. I never dreamed we would have had the level of success ever standing there back then as Chelsea were playing in the old second division in front of 8,000 fans watching Grimsby!
So to the Liverpool song "You have got no history!" short memories and they are very much mistaken. We had league, domestic and European success back in the 50's, 70's and 90's before Abramovich even turned up.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the Premier League, which let's face it is our bread and butter and the most important trophy every single season, Liverpool can only rely on distant memories. The problem is, they feel like they have this divine right to win things because of the past which is hard to comprehend. Dreamland most of them.
As a Chelsea fan and I am talking of supporting my club for nearly 40 years now, I mean genuine supporters who have stood there throughout the decades of little or no success, but still maintained their love for our local team, we know exactly just how bad it can be and had been at Chelsea.
So what if Roman came in and invested the monies he has to change the course of our history! We have had an unprecedented period for our club and I hope it continues but the difference between Chelsea fans and Liverpool fans is that when we know we are shit, we say exactly that. We deal with it, we accept it and we move on looking to improve.
Despite what we have achieved over the last fourteen years, we know that we have to fight for every point, we have to show desire to work hard and to improve and have that determination to fight to earn everything we win - that's week in, week out. We do not just expect to win things or feel like we have a divine right to so do.
So to Sunday and I hope that Chelsea can do a number on Liverpool, beat them to put pressure on their league position and knock them down a peg or two. I would love it if we beat them for fourth place and they lose the final. If they win it, we will never hear the end of it!
Chelsea have the ability to beat Liverpool but need to turn up on Sunday. If we don't it will be a big ask for us. Here's hoping they are focused on the Final rather than the Premier League in these next few weeks and they cock everything up big time!
As I said, for me, there is nothing worse than Liverpool.
