It's important to remember that there will be plenty of stories being leaked ahead of and during the transfer window next month with the majority pure speculation with no real substance. In most cases, greedy, money hungry agents look for more money for their clients with speculation suddenly appearing in the media if their player is unhappy or, playing well.
As for the report of our interest in Wilfried Zaha? I am not so sure this has any substance at all but, in saying that, he would be a viable option if Antonio Conte was in fact interested.
Zaha has ridiculous ability with the ball at his feet, so much so, he signed for Manchester United but just could not find his way under Louis Van Gaal and returned to South London to re-sign for Crystal Palace.
We have seen glimpses of what he is capable of this season as we all witnessed against us and against Leicester this past weekend. Although he has tremendous ability, it's fair to say that looking in from the outside, he needs to maintain a level of consistency once again on a regular basis to put himself right back up there as one of the exciting talents of the Premier League.
As for a January move? I personally cannot see it but, if there was substance, he would be available for the Champions League having not played in Europe this season and, in my view, would give Antonio Conte the option of having four attacking midfielders, four number tens available to the manager to rotate his players in a regular basis alongside Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian.
If someone can get hold of Zaha, play him where he wants to play which seems to be in support of the main striker or, as one of the attacking three up top but at the same time work him hard insisting on the right discipline as Conte has done with Eden Hazard, then Wilfried Zaha really would take his game to next level.
We wait to see what happens but in the meantime, what do you think of Wilfried Zaha?
Good player but come on, give Musonda a chance to prove himself
