According to various press reports, Charly Musonda has requested to leave Chelsea in January and Arsene Wenger is preparing to make a firm offer for the young Belgian.
Once again the press in this country have jumped on what they perceive to be a crisis at Chelsea and have rekindled the situation with Musonda that reared it's head a couple of weeks ago.
Back then Musonda had taken to his Instagram account to post a message that seemed to be aimed at Antonio Conte for his lack of game time and involvement with the Chelsea first team so far this season. At the pre-match press conference that followed a couple of days later, Antonio Conte answered questions of his post and replied by saying:
"I spoke with him and I think Charly understood his mistake. Honestly, I think he has to continue to work very hard to improve himself on the physical aspect and on the tactical aspect, but he is working very well.
He must continue to work in the way that he is and to be focused on the pitch and not on social media, because social media is not the most important thing for his career. I told him this and my task is to help him always find the right way, not the wrong way.
Honestly I think, above all with young players, it is very important to speak with them and to try to explain which is the right way. I did this. I am sure that he understood and I don’t see a problem with him.
Charly could have a good opportunity this season to play because we only have three No.10s: Hazard, Willian and Pedro. Usually two No 10s play, so this season could be good for him to show that he deserves to play."
The original post from Musonda has subsequently been deleted.
What did surprise me was that in the next game against Crystal Palace, Musonda was introduced as a second half substitute bearing in mind everything that Conte had previous stated above. However that remains his last Premier League involvement to this point.
So what of Arsenal's reported interest? Will Musonda follow the example set my Dominic Solanke and leave the club for one of our top four rivals? You can place your free bets on whether he leaves in January.
The message from Antonio Conte is clear, work hard and look to improve yourself physically so as to be able to cope with the physical style of our league. According to these reports, he isn't prepared to do that and is now looking to move on.
There is no point keeping someone here who does not want to be here.

Almost as much talent as ego - he'll make an ideal replacement for Sanchez at Arsenal. Close the door on your way out.
