Tiemoue Bakayoko and N'Golo Kante will provide a ball wall in our midfield this season with the latter having signed for Chelsea last week for £40m.
The much talked of move for Tiemoue Bakayoko was finally completed and the French midfielder signed a five-year contract at the club which is great news following the signing of Toni Rudiger .
Speaking to the Official Chelsea Website, Bakayoko spoke of the move and of an exciting and beautiful partnership with N'Golo Kante in our midfield. He said:
“I am very happy to be here and to join this great team. I have grown up watching Chelsea. Signing was the natural thing for me because it is a club I loved very much in my childhood. I am now looking forward to evolving under this fantastic coach and alongside so many great team-mates.
I have the ambition to play as many matches as possible, to progress as much as I can with a great coach like Antonio Conte, and then I have the objective of taking part in the World Cup at the end of the season.
N'Golo Kante has proved it all.
He was the best player in the Premier League last season in the middle of the pitch and that is not easy.
To play alongside him would be something very good for me and it can help me progress.
I have played a match with him for the French national team so we know each other very well and I hope we can do beautiful things together this year."

It's an exciting combination in our midfield as we look forward to the new season. I am disappointed with what is happening to Nemanja Matic as I do really rate him and the job he has done at Chelsea since his return but, in saying that, at 22-years of age Bakayoko has already proven his ability having worked and spent time with Chelsea legend Claude Makelele at Monaco.
If Bakayoko and Kante can strike up a partnership and understanding as quickly as possible in our midfield, the heartbeat of our team, then they would be a considerable blue wall that our opponents would come up against.
I can't wait for the new season!
