According to reports, John Terry had met with Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe to discuss a potential move to the south coast in a deal worth £100k per week.
It still seems weird and like it's not happening but to write this post and add the "ex-players" label to it does not feel right despite knowing that his time at Chelsea is over, for now anyway.
So what do we make of the potential move to the south coast? Personally I think it's a good one with Bournemouth having already agreed a deal to sign Jermaine Defoe. To add John Terry to their ranks on a free transfer would be a massive signing for Eddie Howe who is looking to build on their impressive ninth place finish in the Premier League.
For JT personally he wouldn't have to relocate his family and move. From where he lives in Surrey, he would only need to commute eighty miles to training every day which is an additional bonus to him personally.
I always talk about the summer/winter transfer windows and talk of how it's important to bring players into your club that will improve the options you have available and most importantly of all, provide immediate competition for places. With Defoe and Terry, Eddie Howe has accomplished exactly that and that's credit to him.
We've seen the foundations they have there. We have seen their ideals and footballing philosophy and we have seen that they have a squad that is already more than capable which would be the perfect fit for JT as he looks to extent his playing career.
Reports state that he would sign for a year with an option to extend for a further season. Let's hope it comes off for him and he continues to do what he has throughout his career, prove people wrong and become the inspiration for everyone.
Good luck JT mate.
