According to this report, Antonio Conte has given Chelsea a five-man shortlist of players he wants the club to sign this summer at a cost of £300m.
Romelu Lukaku, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Marco Verratti, Alex Sandro and Leonardo Bonucci are the players he wants and it looks as though he has secured deals for two of them already with Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko expected to sign by the end of next week for £70m and £40m respectively.
It's a massive amount of money and if Chelsea can pull off deals to sign three or four of them, a massive signal of intent from the manager as he prepares for Chelsea's return to the Champions League next season.
The massive outlay looks to be offset by some key player sales this summer adding to the transfer fees recouped from the sales of Oscar, Mikel, Patrick Bamford and Branislav Ivanovic.
Diego Costa AND Cesc Fabregas have reportedly been told that they no longer feature in the managers plans beyond this season with both due to be sold for a hefty profit on the outlay the club has made to bring them here. In addition, it's being reported that Nemanja Matic will be offered to Juventus to convince them to part with Bonucci and Sandro this summer.
Add those sales to the monies we already have from previous player sales AND the new increased TV/Prize money Chelsea have won this past season and Chelsea will have no issues with the massive outlay to operate within the FFP constraints to which all clubs abide by.
We have read for many weeks that Conte has identified that he wants another centre back, a wing back, two midfielders and a striker and these names would more than fit the bill.
We have seen the goal scoring impact that Romelu Lukaku has made in the Premier League, the impact that Tiemoue Bakayoko has made this season with Monaco winning the French title and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. We know all about Marco Verratti, of the class of Leonardo Bonucci and of the impact that Alex Sandro has made at Juventus having taken over from Patrice Evra.
It's exciting times this summer and as with any transfer window, there are all sorts of rumours flying about so it's important to take most of these reports we are hearing with a pinch of salt. However, these are the same names being linked with Chelsea for a while now and it does seem to have some real substance about them.
Just how many can you see us signing? How many do you think will leave us?
Only time will tell!

ReplyDeleteI personally dont have any problem with Bonucci but Lukaku hmmmmm
DeleteR.Lukaku..no..no.no...not good..very lazy player..to lot money for this type of striker....same as "Mitsubihyi"...better looking and buy other striker
DeletePriorities Banucci and Morata please! Go Conte Go
ReplyDeleteall players he wants to bring to chelsea are very very Good. .excluding romelu lukaku. , .am afraid if he endUp like Fernando tores that lost is scoring Boot
ReplyDeleteLukaku no but the rest are ok
ReplyDeleteBonuci is old and lukaku no
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. We don't need Bonucci for that huge amount of money. He's 30 years old. There are good and young defenders out there. Lukaku is not a team player. He is very lady and I don't this if he can do anything good if he comes to Chelsea. We need a striker who can penetrate through defensive sides like Burnly fc, Crystal Palace among other small teams. I don't think if Lukaku can oofer that. Morata can be a good option.
DeleteOne centre back is ok
ReplyDeleteNo Morata then no need for Lukaku. Lukaku we don't need him. All EPL defenders re not scared of him. I don't see him as a replacement for Diego
ReplyDeleteThey are all good players but kind of weird for me: we know bakayoko is coming to replace matic and thats ok, we have kante so we definately dont need verati but i cant compare him to fabregas. conte should go for an extra attacking midfielder instead. bonucci, well hes a fantastic defender but the figures raised for him are just way too high for him considering he is in his 30s now. as for lukaku, not sure hes what we need. better go for beloti.
ReplyDeleteEnter your comment...Lukaku should be given the opportunity to showcase his scoring skills this time around.
ReplyDeletePrem is a special league not as soft as Spanish and Italian league,
ReplyDeleteRomelu is a premiership established player and we know his abilities and strength which is what premiership is all about.
CFC does not need a player that will come to adapt or struggle to fit in , we need striker with prem experience
I am of the opinion that Manager Conte is an expert in terms of technicality and quality.I think his decisions to bring this players to Chelsea surely will a balance to the Team in other to fight for more trophies come this season.
ReplyDeleteBut for Romelu,I don't realy think he can lead perfectly up front, please we need a better option in that position.
Romelu Lukaku? Oh no! Conte always wanted Alvaro Morata but Chelsea Sporting Director Emenalo has been the one bringing up the issue of Romelu Lukaku. Forget his experience on the league, he's not a big team player. That was how he was banging the goals on his loan spell in Westbrom but when he came back to Chelsea he couldn't deliver. Alvaro Morata should be our ideal striker. He proved himself in Juventus and Madrid. These are two great clubs. I also think Chelsea needs a backup for Moses on the righ wing back.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Pls Bonucci is old,pls conte go for a young defender and we don't need Lukaku .. Belloti n Sanchez shld come into our team while Bakayoko, James or Varetti, Mahrez, Sandro shld also join the team for better season
ReplyDelete*Players out: Michu, Costa, Matic
* Ake needs playing time
* Pls fabregas shld stay cos we also need experience players on bench to challenge the likes of Madrid n Barca in euro coz CL is another ball game
I think Lukaku is not a bad option. That guy has never been given a chance at last time around. Chelsea has no patience with young talent. Pele tend to compare Lukaku and the Frog but these are two different players with almost similar styles. I'm sure Lukaku under the stewardship of Conte ,is bound to improve immensely. Mark my words, all you fans against the signing of ROM, will sing a different tune come end of season. I just wish we get most of Conte's wish list. Please Conte, make use of our talented youth this coming season.I think they have done enough to deserve a chance in the first team.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer koulibaly or van djik because they are younger
ReplyDeleteyes you are right i go with your option
Deletelukaku is not really the ultimate striker for chelsea...Rather Morata is better in terms of decision making and technicality...lukaku is a flat stiker the ability to manouvure is low.bonnucci will give the edge in the uefa, experience is better in uefa.as for the remaining three i think he sees the same thing he saw in Kante's case.
ReplyDeleteleave fabregas this season and let matic out james rodiguez in
ReplyDeleteI don,t have any problem with these players coming in 'AS LONG' as it is Antonio who wants them and they are not being ;dumped; on him by you know ;WHO;
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the media today regarding Conte being "at odds" with the Chelsea hierarchy? Apparently one of the things he wants is a direct line to Abramovich and Granovskaia. The only person who sits between them at the moment is Mr "palpable discord" himself, Emanalo. A rather pointed request I'd say.
DeleteI saw this coming when Costa said he had put his issues to the "Chelsea people". Since Emanalos' arrival (post Mourinhos' first stint) we've had no stability, seen some excellent managers come and go, and seen player power rear it's ugly head on at least three occasions (this could be the start of the fourth) with the managers sacrificed as a result.
If you examine each and every turmoil that seems to engulf us at regular intervals, you'll find Emanalo, player power facilitator extraordinaire, at the centre of it. It's about time Abramovich woke up and smelt the coffee!
As you say,,'If' and it,s a big IF any of the media/Stories have a ring of/truth,,the ;merry go round; starts again,he ,s either RA secret bit on the side,or he has something to tell Putin.mind you they reckon Putins net worth is £200 Billion so it can,t be a money thing?? I hope Conte stays I like the guy not just for what he,s done, but the way in which he goes about it,I will miss him to say the least,,mind you I did say that about Carlo and Robbie and a few more ex/man,,,is ted drake available, eddie mc.doc..
DeleteNot only would we miss Conte, the really sad thing is that whoever comes in would be confronted with the same situation. Top quality managers won't work in such circumstances. Emanalo just has to go but as time passes (and managers depart) it seems increasingly unlikely.
