As Chelsea seemingly (hopefully!) canter towards a league and cup double, thoughts for many fans will have already turned to next season. There is certainly no doubt that Antonio Conte, his staff and the Chelsea hierarchy will have already been working very hard on some big summer signings.
But who will and who should the Blues sign ahead of the 2017-18 campaign? With an assault on the Champions League next term and the extra games that will involve, Chelsea need both extra quality and quantity. There is a chance that the vast army of players out on loan can provide the latter. However, here we take a look at some of the big names being linked with a move to the Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian striker is heavily linked with a return to the Pensioners and his 24 league goals in an average Everton side speak volumes. Despite having been around for years, the former Anderlecht striker is still only 23 (he’ll be 24 this month) and is certainly still improving.
The belief he is a flat track bully is mistaken and regardless of what happens with Diego Costa in the summer, Lukaku would be a great addition. He can be backed at odds of 7/4 with Sky Bet to be at Stamford Bridge following the summer window and that looks a very good shout to us.
Alexis Sanchez
It would be a controversial move for all parties but Sanchez to Chelsea could come off. The Chilean is just the sort of warrior Conte loves and as well as fight, hard work and goals, Sanchez also offers assists.
He’s known to want to leave Arsenal for a more ambitious club and staying in London would also suit him. BetVictor make him a 5/1 shot to move west before the window closes and that isn’t the worst bet around.
Isco
Real Madrid’s young Spanish midfielder could be a target for the Blues, especially if Eden Hazard was to leave. The Spanish international could even be involved in a swap deal, with Hazard rated a 3/1 shot to move to the Bernabeu and Isco 4/1 to come to the Bridge. Stranger things have happened.
Kylian Mbappé
This one would really, really excite the Chelsea faithful and whilst it’s hard to see the deal happening, who knows? Just 18 years old, Mbappe has been a sensation in Monaco’s fantastic domestic and European campaign. He looks like a star in the making and whilst the fee would be astronomical the Blues are certainly one of the clubs who could afford it. Paddy Power offer odds of 17/2 that the striker is the next Chelsea signing or you can back him at shorter odds to make the move at any point before the next window is over.
Diego Costa
Costa is one player who could well be on his way out of the Bridge and sooner rather than later. Some bookies have him as short as 1/3 to head to China in the summer. He’s also thought to be interested in a move back to Atletico Madrid after bemoaning the lack of sun in England. What did he expect?!

Costa is a goner, sad to see him go since I cannot see Lukaku or Morata (have not seen much of him to be honest) being able to do what Costa does when he's in form (the goals against City, West Brom and Stoke being examples).
ReplyDeleteBertrand and De Bruyne would be ideal - well within Emanalos grasp, probably wouldn't cost us more than £200m.......
