According to various reports in the media, Zinedine Zidane has asked the Real Madrid President Florentino Perez to sign N'Golo Kante this summer.
I have to admit that I am concerned by this because just look at the impact Kante has made in the Premier League over the last two seasons. Once again at Stamford Bridge yesterday, Kante gave a demonstration of his qualities with superbly timed tackles, interceptions and his general use of the ball.
As we have seen in the last couple of weeks, Kante has won the Premier League for the second season running having won it last year at Leicester, he has been voted the PFA Players Player of the year, he has been voted the Football Writers Player of the Year and yesterday was awarded the EA Sports Premier League player of the season. He has a chance on Saturday to add to his impressive list of achievements this year by beating Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
So to these reports that Real Madrid are preparing to make their big money move to lure the French midfielder to Spain. You would have to admit that if he was given the chance, I am sure that he would at least consider it because lets face it, he did the same to Leicester last season. Hopefully, under Antonio Conte he can see that he is better off staying in the Premier League with Chelsea as we plan to take our fight back to the Champions League next season in addition to hopefully defending our title better than we did last year.
If Antonio Conte is to build on his current squad to strengthen ahead of what will be a tougher test with the addition of European football next year, we MUST keep hold of our key players. N'Golo Kante is irreplaceable at this football club along with Eden Hazard and Chelsea must do everything in their power to convince both of them that they can achieve everything they want here in West London.
