Diego Costa has finally spoken out over the speculation over his future linking him with a mega-money move to China and has taken a swipe at the media in England.
It's fair to say if we are honest, that none of us expect Diego Costa to remain at Chelsea beyond this season. Having read continued speculation over his immediate future, read quotes coming from China of their intention to make him the highest paid footballer in the world, having witnessed his fall-out with the Chelsea staff back in January and his subsequent goal drought where some Chelsea fans questioned his commitment to the Chelsea cause, you can understand and get sucked into the general feeling that he will leave London this summer.
Speaking after the Middlesborough victory on Monday night that puts Chelsea just three points away from their fifth Premier League title in twelve seasons, their second in three seasons, Costa answered questions put to him by DIRECTVSports of the speculation that surrounds his immediate future and said:
"I am very happy. I know that people here, they are always hitting me so much.
But what I am saying is people here in London, the press, they are always looking for something, speculating.
Saying that I am leaving, but I am scoring goals, we are on top of the league, we can be champions.
In three years in Chelsea I can be champion twice which is not a little thing. I hope we can win the league and enjoy and the critics have to be sorry.
I do whatever i like and not whatever everybody else says. People talk to much. I am calm. I am waiting to finish the season, and to be champions and after I will see." - Souce: The Mirror.
It's more than interesting quotes from Diego that would indicate that he is happy in London and happy at Chelsea. He is right, you cannot take the achievement of becoming a champion here twice in three years with a pinch of salt, it's a fantastic achievement especially this season with the likes of Pep Guardiola now managing in this league.
I am sure that the temptation to sell out for the massive amount of money on offer will always be in the back of his mind but surely, after a first season and the impact Antonio Conte has had at Chelsea, Diego Costa would want to be a part of the team that Conte takes back into the Champions League next season to see just where Conte could take us?
What do you people think? Do you think there is any chance that Diego could now stay?
