Chelsea became the third club in Premier League history to record three-hundred home wins by beating Middlesborough on Monday night and have take a massive step to their fifth title in twelve seasons.
It's taken a few days to post up on here after Monday night for various reasons but as I write this post, I am literally grinning from ear to ear. Call me smug, call me arrogant, call me whatever you want but to know that we are just three points away from winning the Premier League is amazing considering where we found ourselves a season ago.
Monday night could have been a dangerous game for us having to face Middlesborough who, after a good performance in their previous game against Manchester City, coming to the Bridge knowing that a defeat would mean relegation, could have turned up and had a real go at us which is what I expected. That all changed literally after the first minute of the match as Chelsea created chance after chance with the game being played out just like a training game.
You have to hand it Antonio Conte and his players especially in recent games where they have had to face so-called pressure. Coming off the back of a dreadful performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Chelsea have beaten Tottenham 4-2 at Wembley to secure our place in the FA Cup Final again. We have beaten Southampton at home 4-2, Everton 3-0 away followed by another 3-0 victory against Middlesborough. These four games have if anything, put all the pressure back onto Tottenham and they succumbed to it against West Ham last Friday which has now put us in this position.
To sit here knowing that we can go to West Brom and play with freedom in what is always a difficult place to go to should have a positive effect on the players. Knowing we have Watford on Monday night back at the Bridge followed by our final game of the season, again at the Bridge against the already relegated Sunderland if the result does not go our way is massive. However, as we have all witnessed this season, Antonio Conte will not settle for anything less than a performance from his players.
It's going to happen, Chelsea will become Champions by winning one of these three games and it's well deserved to which no-one can deny. Then, in a couple of weeks time, we have a chance to become "Double-Double Winners" by hopefully beating Arsenal in the FA Cup Final.
What a season!

Call me a killjoy but there's no chicken counting from me. I'm desperate for us to beat WBA tomorrow and, if not, Manure to turn Spuds over on Sunday. The longer it goes on the greater the pressure and the chance of a cock-up.......look what happened to Brighton.
