Ever since the sale of Oscar back in the January transfer window, we have been waiting to see how Chelsea intend to fill the void in the squad left by his departure. Now it seems that Isco is the man Antonio Conte has earmarked to replace him.
Isco has never really cemented a place in the Real Madrid side under various managers since his arrival in the capital a couple of seasons ago. Now it seems that the diminutive play maker is looking for a move away to restart his career and is open to a move to the Premier League.
Isco is a real talent and has so much natural ability it’s frightening. If he was playing for any other team other than the Real Madrid and Barcelona, he would be the main man. For now though, he has to play second fiddle to the likes of Toni Kroos, Luca Modric and James Rodriguez who play on a regular basis.
So what of Isco and the Premier League? Well we have seen the likes of Juan Mata, David Silva and Santi Cazorla settle into the physicality and pace of our game without problems so his size wouldn’t be a problem. As I said he has fantastic ability and would more than hold his own here but is he right for Chelsea?
At Chelsea were are blessed with the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro to call upon when required so we have more than enough ability in key areas. Oscar was not considered to be one of the players under Antonio Conte to play in that position so we have to feel the same of Isco. For that reason, Chelsea are more than covered with N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the deeper midfield area of the pitch so I see no reason to sign Isco.
I personally believe that this is pure speculation and there is nothing in these reports whatsoever. What do you think?
