Voted the best player by his peers two seasons ago,
Eden Hazard feels that this year despite a dip in confidence coupled with poor
performances last term, he is playing better than ever under Antonio Conte.
I agree with Eden Hazard that he is playing better
than ever this season and that’s because of the freedom he now has under
Antonio Conte. If Chelsea wins the
competition for the fifth time, then Hazard has made an important contribution
once again. If you’re curious how strong Chelsea is doing from the bookmaker’s
perspective, check them out on a provider such as CrownBet.
In the game we love and spend ridiculous amounts of
time watching week in, week out, there are only very few players who literally
get the fans off their seats in anticipation every time they are given the
ball. Of course, Eden Hazard is one of these special players!
We all have visions of what we’d like to do with the
ball when we play the game ourselves. Whether you’re a child in the street or
over the park, someone playing in five-a-side leagues up and down the country,
or someone like me used to play competitive football every single weekend, we
dream of having the abilities these spectacular football players have.
We all dream of scoring the perfect goal waltzing our way through numerous tackles before rounding the goalkeeper and tucking the ball into the corner of the net but, with respect and as I said, having played the game at a decent standard, it’s one thing to have those silky skills in your head but to be able to transfer that into real life is a whole new ballgame.
Just think, other paid professionals come up against
players like Eden Hazard, Messi or Ronaldo and they are made at times to look
foolish. I can imagine there being nothing worse than being put literally on
your arse as Arsenal’s Francis Coqeulin would have felt when Hazard destroyed him a couple of weeks ago at Stamford Bridge. It is moments like that when I seriously
feel that Eden Hazard is the most naturally gifted player I have ever seen.
Please do not misinterpret my opinion here, as I do
understand that there are other players that have fantastic ability to win a
game in the Premier League by themselves like Diego Costa and his goal against
West Brom at the Bridge which was special. However, it’s the game changers on a
consistent basis, it’s those that put other players to shame that we pay money
to watch.
The thing is, Eden Hazard has the potential to improve
and get better and better. There are games that he still seems to drift out of
when we expect him to be demanding the ball to try and make something happen.
We can all understand that you cannot be at your very best all the time but
surely when you are blessed with the ability he has, he should be able to do
more on those occasions.
Playing as we do with 3-4-3 using wingbacks, it allows
Hazard to cut inside and dictate play in his favoured number ten position. Not
only that, he also knows that he does not need to track back into defensive
positions throughout the course of the game as he was previously asked to do.
He still works back in games but the demands placed on him personally are very
different now and just look at the impact he is making on Chelsea and in the
Premier League once again.
Recently, Hazard has revealed that he has no plans to
leave Chelsea which is excellent news for all of us. He talks of one day
winning the Ballon D’or and I can see that happening, hopefully in a Chelsea
shirt. If Eden Hazard continues to develop and improve as he has this season
then I see no reason why he cannot win it in the future.
So what do you think of Eden Hazard this season? Do
you agree that he is playing better than ever?
