Antonio Conte has received plenty of plaudits for turning things around at Chelsea and John Terry has added to that with plenty of praise for the man who has taken the Premier League by storm.
We all felt it, we all believed we were heading back into the nightmare of last season after Arsenal inflicted a devastating 0-3 defeat on us at The Emirates. Sitting here now reading this, no-one could have ever imagined that we would find ourselves sitting nine points clear at the top of the Premier League having won 16 of our last 18 Premier League games.
John Terry has spoken recently of Antonio Conte, the nightmare at Arsenal and of the hard work and dedication that has led Chelsea to the top of the Premier League.
He said:
“After we got beat by Liverpool at home and then Arsenal away I was thinking 'oh no, not another season like the one before' but the manager wanted to implement this formation early on and made a big change and big call within the group.
We work an awful lot every single day on the tactical side of things and we are so well organised and prepared that we are going into games feeling very confident and very sure of what we are going to do in the game.
So I am not surprised (we have a big gap) because we put the work in and the manager makes sure we put the work in on the training field." - Source: The Mirror.
JT is spot on, it was such a big, big call to make the change to our formation to get the best out of the players. I like the fact that he allowed the players to continue playing the way they had become so accustomed to first of all. Then, when it went tits up and fell apart he then made the change.
JT has given us an insight of just how hard they all work together day-by-day to prepare for the next game and to improve. We often hear Antonio Conte refer to the hard work they put in each week when he is interviewed after games and without question the difference between the Chelsea of this season compared to last is there for all to see.
