It's sensational news and such a historic milestone for the club and those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it possible. Chelsea will now hope to redevelop Stamford Bridge into a new 60,000 stadium that will rival the best in the Premier League and Europe.
Take a look at the proposed plans put forward by the club tonight and approved for planning permission!
What's your reaction to the news and of this being such a massive moment for our club?
As hard as I try I really don't like the new stadium. I'm hoping that the design grows on me over time (as if it were the next Golf model to be released by Volkswagen) and/or looks better in the flesh. Despite that, I'm absolutely delighted.......Location, location, location! KTBFFH.
ReplyDeleteIt,s Different, I still miss the old ;cow/shed;toilets at the top of the old shed/end late 50,s 60,s,never understood why they replaced them? Hope I m still around if it ever does get started, but many problems to solve before it even starts,ie ground/sharing,I do like the Fulham/idea,as that was a second/choice/ when the pensioners were away for the day, probably not big enough now but it,s ticks all the boxes for me,but a great place/stadium none the less,I much prefer that than the other suggestion,s Wembley/Twick etc
DeleteI agree, Fulham would be my choice but as you say, not big enough.
DeleteHaving been a Harlequins season ticket holder for several seasons I'm very familiar with the Twickenham area which is nice but the national stadium is pretty awful. Wembley is a nightmare all round. Perhaps we should share with the Hammers?.......another awful place but we'd have good justification for negotiating a simarly cheap rent!
