Chelsea face Stoke at home tomorrow with Tottenham due to face Watford on Sunday ahead of our clash at White Hart Lane next Wednesday. Harry Kane has spoken ahead of the game.
Who on earth would have thought we would be ten points ahead of Tottenham at the top of the Premier League as we head into this weekends games! Having beaten them at Stamford Bridge coming from behind to win, this game will have all the makings of another potential classic.
It comes as no surprise that someone from the Tottenham camp has come out and spoken of the importance of the game on Wednesday night and has re-iterated that Pochettino's side must avoid falling even further behind in the title race.
Harry Kane speaking after their recent win over Southampton said:
"We have put together a good run. We’ve won a few in a row and we need to keep winning. Chelsea have won 12 in a row and hopefully we can put a stop to that run.
We’re focused on Watford (on New Year’s Day) first — to get another win there — but it is a big game against Chelsea and we don’t want to fall too far behind them. So whatever happens we have to try to win that game.
We have to try to win every game and hope Chelsea and the teams above us drop points. We can’t have too many off days. We are going to keep fighting and pushing until the very end." - Source: Daily Mail.
Whatever happens against Stoke, this is a massive game and another real test of our credentials this season. I said that if we could beat Tottenham at home followed by Man City away then we are certain to finish inside the top four and we did. If we can beat Tottenham at Three Point Lane to extend the gap to them to at least thirteen points and do the double over them this season then we are well and truly in the hunt for the title.
Tottenham are on a good run and will provide a stern test for us on Wednesday night. However, with the way we are playing at the moment and the fact that no-one seems to have figured out the right tactical approach when they face us, it will hopefully be another three points in the bag for Chelsea!
