Chelsea’s Saturday night performance against Everton has been described by plenty of Football Pundits and Newspaper Reporters as being on of the best they have seen. Jamie Redknapp has paid Antonio Conte and his team an unexpected compliment.
Chelsea look to have the perfect balance as they look to keep things tight at the back whilst carrying a potent attacking threat. Antonio Conte has found the right formation for this players and as you through the starting eleven of the last three weeks running with the results and performances they have had, you have to applaud the amazing turnaround since defeat at Arsenal six weeks ago.
Speaking of Chelsea and their performance on Saturday evening, Match of the Day Commentator John Motson described Chelsea as giving the best performance from a team he had ever seen in his forty-five year career, which is high praise.
Jamie Redknapp, someone who being ex-Liverpool always seems to hate talking positively about Chelsea had little choice but to praise our performance. He said:
“Chelsea are so good at the moment it’s like watching a team on FIFA 17! Antonio Conte has taken the players who underperformed last year and got them organised and brimming with confidence.
Changing the system has worked wonders but you can only do it if you have the right players. Conte now has two wing backs who love to get forward and the best defensive midfielders of the last two years in Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante.
If I was playing against those two I'd be thinking, 'Where am I going to get any space?' They are the perfect little-and-large combination — you can't beat Matic in the air and Kante is so dynamic.
They break up play and win so many second balls. It's why David Luiz is looking so good — he has so much protection in front of him.
Everton tried to emulate Chelsea's system and were no match for them. Playing this way, Conte's side have teams on the back foot.” – Source: Daily Mail.
Unfortunately for Conte and the Chelsea fans, we are now on yet another international break, which I hope has not come at the wrong time. Chelsea are playing so well, playing with confidence and are in the perfect rythum at the moment so I do not want anything to spoil it.
We are to face Middlesborough away followed by Tottenham and Manchester City and I wish we could play them today because we really are looking that good.
Fingers crossed everyone comes back fit and without injury!
