In one of the most surprising rumours printed of late, AC Milan are being linked with a move to sign Michy Batshuayi as early as January with reports that he could become unsettled through a lack of first team action.
I have to say that for me personally, this is absolutely ridiculous and complete fabrication. You have to question where this report has come from with an immediate opinion being that it’s clutching at straws to sell copy of their Newspaper.
We are literally three months into the Premier League season coupled with two breaks for International Football and that is not anywhere near enough time for someone to come to this country and settle down. You have to understand that it’s about learning the language, the culture, the lifestyle, your club and your teammates.
It’s clear that Diego Costa is Antonio Conte’s preferred option up front at the moment and the Spanish Striker has delivered exactly what has been asked of him so far with excellent performances with goals. However, I personally still believe that the Manager could make a switch to playing two up front as he looks for the right solution, giving Batshuayi a chance.
We have started the season in a 4-2-3-1 formation that has hopefully now been thrown out the window and never to be seen again. We are currently experimenting with formations that allow us to play with three centre backs but I still believe that there is plenty of scope to change in attacking areas.
In the brief moments that we have seen Batshuayi play up next to Costa they have both worked well together and contributed to some important goals. So why does it seem to be an option that has been ruled out with reports stating that the young Belgian will become unsettled and look for an escape route?
Michy Batshuayi has already shown the massive amount of potential he has, already demonstrated his eye for goals and has already shown glimpses of his strength, which will cope with the demands of our game without a problem.
Michy Batshuayi may not be starting games on a regular basis for Chelsea at the moment but I would not bet against that changing before the end of the season. The “Bat-Man” is going nowhere!
