Victor Moses is someone who has done more than enough here every summer in pre-season to be given a chance in our first team, or at least the chance to be in the squad for a season. Now, under Antonio Conte he has been handed that opportunity,
Every year for the last three, Moses 25, has been one of the best and most consistent players throughout the course of each pre-season campaign but to then find himself discarded and asked to pack his bags and play for someone else for a year. That was under Jose Mourinho who just didn't fancy him.
This pre-season the same has happened but this time, he finds himself right in the Managers plans and involved in our games so far this term, topping off a good start under Conte with a goal against Bristol Rovers.
Speaking after the game, Moses was asked of the past few seasons and this summer and said:
"The most important thing for me was coming back to my main club.
After all the loans I want to be here and help the club I belong to go as high as we can in the table.
I've always believed in the ability and the talent I've got.
To be honest every pre-season I feel I've done well and it's just about being given a chance. That was the thing that was missing.
I've got that with this manager now and he knows what I've got. I just want to pay him back by working hard for the team."
In my opinion, Moses should be ahead of Pedro in the pecking order and should be starting this weekend against Burnley if Willian isn't fit. Moses offers us a better end product and most importantly goals which is something we haven't seen from Pedro for god knows how long!
I firmly believe that if you give him a run of games now, he could become an important player for Chelsea this year!
What do you think?
