After a disastrous season last season
Chelsea are looking to regain a lot of ground and prove many people wrong this
season. The squad finished 10th last season, and are looking to
challenge for the EPL title. With a new manager, in the form of Italy’s Euro
Manager Antonio Conte, and a few players flying in to join the club it is going
to be an exciting season to say the least. Betfred mobilegames can give you something to do while you’re waiting for the next
Chelsea game to kick off, and after a fantastic win in their first game, we’ve
put together a list of reasons why Chelsea can challenge for the EPL title this
season.
New
Manager
Antonio Conte has taken the role as the new
manager, and his domestic record at club level is near faultless. With three
consecutive Serie A title wins with Juventus, his record is definitely
something that will be welcomed by the Chelsea Club. His meticulousness will
bring an aura of Jose Mourinho to the club, but without the relationship
problems (hopefully). After a fantastic run with an Italy side that was deemed
to be the worst in 10 years in the Euros, he should be able to rejuvenate and
reignite the outstanding quality that the Chelsea squad have. The first day of the season has been and gone, and the side had a great game
against West Ham, leading to a 2-1 win.
Youth
Success
Although a lot of managers may believe that
you ‘won’t win anything with kids’ (Alan Hansen), there has been a rise of
extremely promising youngsters at Chelsea, giving a further reason for a lot of
optimism this season. With the likes of Kenedy, Bertrand Traore and Ruben
Loftus-Cheek having already been introduced, they should expect their careers
to progress rapidly under the new manager. Antonio Conte is widely credited as
being a major factor in the rise of Paul Pogba, and there is hope that he will
be in charge of turning Loftus-Cheek into the next success story. There’s a lot
of quality in the young stars at Chelsea, and with a manager known to blend
youth and experience, things should be looking up for the club this season.
No
European Football
Having not qualified for any European
football for this season, this could come as a huge relief, and surge of
confidence for the club. With only domestic matters to concentrate on, the
quality-filled Chelsea squad have a fantastic chance to storm the Premier
League and reclaim their crown – similar to what Liverpool almost did a few
seasons ago.
New
Arrivals
Chelsea so far haven’t sold many players,
or bought many, aside from N’Golo Kante from current champions Leicester City
and Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi. These two new players could be a great
addition to the squad, and with not many having gone elsewhere, as of yet,
there’s a good chance that this already great squad will be strengthened even
more, to an Italian style of play. The likes of Hazard, Willian and Oscar, the
three stars of the previous seasons, will be looking to form a new winning
partnership with the new squad additions to challenge the title.
