It was interesting to read that in a survey of 10,000 Football fans from each Premier League club across the country, Chelsea were voted the most hated club with Manchester United second and Liverpool third.
In a Poll run by the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are the most hated of all Premier League Clubs which comes as no surprise really as people still have a major issue with the fact that Roman Abramovich came to our club and changed Football in this country.
"You bought the League and your success" is often aimed at the Chelsea faithful along with the chant "You ain't got no history" from our rivals up North! However, it's water off of a ducks back as far as I a concerned because if it wasn't for the likes of Roman Abramovich coming into this country, spending the money he did on bringing some of the biggest names in the game to Chelsea, for others to then have little choice but to try and do the same, our League wouldn't be anywhere near as strong as it is now.
Look at the monies spent by Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool etc over a sustained period of time compared to Chelsea ever since Roman has been here. Now, look at the money in the game and just how much that has literally "Sky
Over the years though I have to say that I scoff a people that have a pop at me for being a Chelsea fan and for what happened at our club. I always argue the point that if a rich owner came into their club and did the same thing, would they be unhappy about it or would they accept it? Look at Tottenham fans for example. If someone managed to oust Daniel Levy and ploughed money into their club and as a result won Premier League titles, Cups and the Champions League, would they rather they didn't? Of course not!
Chelsea are the benchmark for the likes of City to follow. Just look at our record in the Champions League over a sustained period of time compared to theirs. I would place a bet this season that Chelsea would get right back into the Champions League with a top four finish using the Ladbrokes Android App if I was you!
If we are the most hated club then so be it. I wouldn't change a thing!
