This Chelsea Midfielder has told new boss Antonio Conte that he wants to leave and sign for Manchester United.

Nemanja Matic isn't happy and has reportedly told incoming boss Antonio Conte that he wants to leave Chelsea and sign for Manchester United to hook up with Jose Mourinho for a third time. I am wondering how the Chelsea fans feel about that?

Many people had thought that Matic was one of those who had reportedly fallen out with Jose Mourinho during the turbulent times at our club last season but it's clear that is simply not the case as he looks to link up with him for a third time. Matic was sold to Benfica as part of the deal to bring David Luiz to Stamford Bridge and then re-signed by Mourinho upon his return to Chelsea.

I sincerely hope that something happens that changes his mind because we all know exactly how dominant he can be in the middle of the pitch as he proved almost instantly when he played for the first time since returning to the club.

We have seen Matic totally dominate the likes of Yaya Toure at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium and when he is on form he really is different class.

The problem with Matic in my opinion is that it depends on the tactical system that the manager deploys and where he fits into it. For example, in the Chelsea 4-2-3-1 it worked for him when he had someone next to him with legs to work just as hard in that area as he does.

In our title winning season a year ago, Chelsea managed to get away with the fact that Cesc Fabregas spent most of that season sitting deep next to him. Chelsea were ruthless at the start of the year and then became like a machine in the second part of the season and very rarely were caught out in that area.

This past season was simply a very different story as the opposition exposed Fabregas and his lack of pace and defensive attributes in that area. Matic as a result had to cover across the space that Fabregas had left exposed and he became outnumbered time and time again. Matic looked lost and his form suffered a massive dip with the rest of the players.

When Matic knows that he had someone next to him who was willing to work has hard defensively as he does he becomes a very different player. Knowing that he just needs to cover the areas he is responsible for, you see the weight of expectation lifted from his shoulders and he becomes a class apart as he did against Dynamo Kiev at the Bridge in the Champions League - He was awarded man of the match for his performance and rightly so.

Looking at the latter part of this past season and his performances were better because he had Mikel next to him. That allows him to express himself and to come forward with the ball. However, at Bournemouth with his lack of celebration after scoring, it's clear that he was waiting for the season to be over.

I believe under Antonio Conte, Matic can really become one of the best in the world but it seems that he has no interest in staying here and wants to join Manchester United. In saying that, Chelsea would command a healthy fee for them to sign him.

I just hope we can sign Kante or Pogba to replace him as we have to believe that Chelsea would not sell such a prized asset without already having a ready made replacement in mind.
