Cesc Fabregas is the latest big name at Chelsea being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with the latest reports stating that he is unhappy and wants to head back to La Liga!
Many people would immediately think of a return to Barcelona but knowing that it's not possible, it seems that Real Madrid would be his preferred destination which would cause a certain amount of controversy in Cataluna. Sounding like this story is complete fabrication and as far fetched as they come, I just wonder on the situation with Fabregas and Chelsea now?
We have recently heard from the player himself as he has spoken of looking forward to the challenge of working with Antonio Conte. Speaking back in April, he said:
'It will be the first time in years I won't play in the Champions League. We must come back stronger. I hope we can compete for the title in England next year.
In Antonio Conte there will be a new manager. He has proven that he can work successfully, especially at Juventus he had a strong time.'
Let's also not forget that Fabregas had also reportedly turned down a lucrative move to China worth around £200,000 per week!
(Imagine what you could do with that amount of money per week - InstaKasino could be a likely destination!)
From the way he was talking back in April, all the signs are good and it's clear that he is looking forward to this coming season, to put Chelsea back into the top four and hopefully beyond. So why are the reports coming out now stating that he is unhappy?
You look at the way Antonio Conte set up his Italian side against Belgium, with the three central midfielders, and you do see a role for Fabregas. What excites me is the fact that he could become just as influential at Chelsea as Andrea Pirlo was for Conte at Juventus. Imagine Fabregas in that deeper position popping his passes around while the others do the defensive work around him.
It's important to remember that while the Euro's are going on everything has come to a standstill at the moment when normally the summer transfer window would be in full swing with deals being done and arranged for July 1st for those out of contract. With not much happening as the players are competing in the tournament, the Newspapers are coming up with stories to fill their pages and most of what we currently read being utter nonsense and complete fabrication.
Cesc Fabregas being unhappy and wanting a move to Real Madrid is one of these!
