No-one needs reminding of just how awful Chelsea have been this season. We all aware of our faults, our frailties and our short-comings. Being 2-1 up against relegation threatened Sunderland would in the past given us confidence to see the game out, pack up our bags and go home. On Saturday those days were all but a distant memory!
You have to hold your hands up to Sunderland no matter how bad Chelsea were and how appalling our defending was, they are fighting for their lives, refused to give up, gave everything to press us and reaped the benefits by taking a MASSIVE three point to put themselves in prime position to survive with two games to go. Credit to you and good luck, I hope Rafa Benitez gets what he deserves!
I have to say that I don't buy into this bollocks about people playing themselves into form ahead of the Euros this summer. Serious questions need to be asked by Roman Abramovich in that dressing room or at Cobham if that's the case. What we had to witness at the weekend was dire it really was. Our defending was atrocious and it seemed as though people just gave up as they have been doing all season. We have to match these sides, we have to show the same hunger, commitment and desire or, we see what happened to us in this one!
The only players to come out of the game with any credit in my eyes were Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, the rest are already looking ahead to the summer and it's shocking! What's even worse is that despite talking about giving the youngsters more of a chance between now and the end of the season, Guus Bloody Hiddink STILL picks the same players week in, week out! Play Oscar for crying out loud, give RLC a run I every game and for once, when things are going against us, have the balls to attack the opposition by changing to 4-4-2, stick Pato or Falcao on who are both crying out for a chance to prove themselves despite everything and fucking go for it!
What we had to witness once again was the same players not giving much of a shit, heads dropping when it going against us, a lack of hunger to fight back unless it's a game that means something and another three points lost!
I knew we were in for a shocker when Cesc Fabregas played a back-pass without looking, immediately putting Gary Cahill in trouble after just 30 seconds. But for John Terry's position on the cover, Cahill would have received a straight red for taking out Defoe but luckily (we thought) only received a yellow card.
Diego Costa continued his run of scoring goals under Guus Hiddink with our opener on 14 minutes. A lucky deflection found it's way into Costa's path inside the box and from a tight angle, Costa knocked it passed the keeper to make it 1-0 Chelsea.
Chelsea had plenty of warnings that Sunderland could equalise as they would play the ball wide time and time again to players that were not closed down quick enough. As a result they had plenty of time to look up, pick a pass and create problems for us. Courtois was called into action on 25 mins as he had to save from close range again from a cross in the box!
On 40 minutes we all witnessed the goal of the season Khazri hit an unstoppable volley from a high ball, 25 yards out that flew into the net giving Thibaut Courtois no chance to make it 1-1 and being honest, the goal was that good, there is no argument against it apart from the fact that someone again should have closed him down quicker.
Right on half time, Nemanja Matic made it 2-1 Chelsea after some nice interplay down our left hand side saw Eden Hazard win a flick on to Cesar Azpilicueta who had pushed forward. In turn, he won a header to beat his defender and the ball found Matic who had made a run into the box unmarked and he took a touch to control the ball, followed with a calm side-foot finish. His total lack of goal celebration is worth noting - he is off in the summer!
Second half and it was mostly all Sunderland but for a couple of moments for Chelsea. Now the problem I have with this 45 minutes is as stated earlier, a real lack of hunger and desire to close the ball down. Both Fabio Borini AND Jermaine Defoe scored goals that again came from out wide and for some reason, were both given space to composed themselves and score.
Borini made it 2-2 with a low shot into the net from outside the box with no one anywhere near him trying to close the ball down and worse was to follow.
Again, from out wide, on the left this time, the cross comes into the box and Baba Rahman tries to get to the ball and can only deflect it higher into the box. Now Gary Cahill by this point has left his marker - Defoe to go and win the header but misses the ball totally and is left in no-mans-land leaving Defoe the time and space to take a touch first, then blast the ball into the net to win it 3-2. It was a total shambles once again to only get worse as JT gets sent off for two-yellow cards meaning that's it for him this season and possibly beyond - more on that later.

God give me strength but please, please, please, make it stop as I am dreading getting beat by the bin dippers on Wednesday and Leicester on Sunday!
