Chelsea travel to Norwich tonight and the manager has hinted that it's a game for our squad players to be involved in. I just want to know how much you would rotate tonight bearing in mind the importance of keeping our run going?
In my view, games such as these shouldn't be taken too lightly. OK, Norwich are struggling at the moment but as we all know, anyone can beat anyone on their day and Chelsea must approach this one with the right mentality. If we make plenty of changes tonight and we win the game then fantastic, if we drop points then I guess questions would be asked of the manager's decision.
I think we can all agree that Diego Costa could do with a rest after the immense performances and effort he has put in of late. We have all noticed a drastic improvement in his attitude to the game ever since Guus Hiddink took over. OK, there still might be the odd flash point here and there, but for the most part Costa is just concentrating on playing football. His work rate is amazing and I would be inclined to give him a break this evening.
The problem we have is in our back four. We have to ask ourselves the question if we cannot afford to rest Gary Cahill or Bransilav Ivanovic for Matt Miazga? Is tonight the right time to give him his debut?
Cesar Azpilicueta picks himself as he will in all of our games and after the weekend I wonder if the manager will give Rahman a vote of confidence by giving him the start tonight or if Kenedy will start in his place as a further reminder to the full back that mistakes such as the one made at the weekend are not acceptable.
Nemanja Matic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are pushing for a start this evening and I think the big Serbian will come in and replace Mikel who has been outstanding. RLC could start next to him with Cesc Fabregas pushed further forward.
In attack, we cannot afford to leave out Willian so he starts. Eden Hazard needs to continue picking up his form to get back to where he needs to be so for me he also starts.
Up front is the big question. Do we start with Betrand Traore who has been a scoring sensation this season or is it time like Miazga, to give Alexandre Pato his debut from the start? For me, I would give the Brazilian the start to give him a real boost of confidence. Make no mistake, Pato has been written off but for me he is still world class and hopefully will prove that to all of us before the end of the season.
This game tonight is as big as any other. We cannot afford to drop points as we continue our march up the table and imagine how another three points for Chelsea could affect others around us.
Come on Chelsea!
