Chelsea make the trip to Everton tomorrow night and I wanted to know from the Chelsea fans reading this post as to who they believe should start the game? It's our last hope of silverware this season and surely we need to be as strong as possible?
I guess we need to ask whether or not the team needs to be shaken up from the massive disappointment on Wednesday night? Should we make a whole host of changes to bring players in that are fresh and free from the slight knocks being reported?
The good news is that John Terry is back in the squad after Guus Hiddink has revealed that he has come through two days of intensive training. Should he walk straight back into the side or settle for a place on the bench?
If fit then Terry starts in my opinion. Move Cesar Azpilicueta back out wide left and Branislav Ivanovic back to right back leaving Gary Cahill next to JT in the middle.
I would also then bring in Nemanja Matic to play next to Mikel in the holding midfield positions to provide added protection in front of our back four as we should have done against PSG. Depending on how the game plays out, we would then have the option to bring on Ruben Loftus-Cheek for one of them to push forward from that area, or to drop Cesc Fabregas back.
I would take Eden Hazard out of consideration totally for this one. As posted here, he has been injured for three to four months and his father has claimed that he has little choice to play when Chelsea push him to rather than rest up to recover.
So in saying that, in our attacking three behind the striker I would play Cesc Fabregas as our number ten, Pedro wide left and Willian on the right which is tough on Oscar who missed out starting on Wednesday night also.
Up top, I would start with Alexandre Pato which many will disagree with to which I understand. Bertrand Traore has done well for the most part when he has been involved but in my view at Goodison Park up against Phil Jagielka etc, I would go with someone with plenty of experience and Pato is my choice as Loic Remy just doesn't do it for me at the moment.
So there you have it. My choice to start is as below:
Courtois, Ivanovic, Cahill, JT(C), Azpilicueta, Matic, Mikel, Willian, Fabregas, Pedro and Pato.
Do you agree? If not, who do you think should start?
