With the nightmare nearly over and Chelsea without Champions League football next season, it's going to be a tough job for the new manager to come in and turn us into title challengers once again. Who would you look to sign with the money being reported as available?
The problem Chelsea are going to have is the lack of Champions League football and will do very well to convince any world class players to come here without it. However, if Chelsea are going to limit the lack of time not being involved to a single season, we need to establish ourselves as one of the top sides in the country and I think you would agree that we are least two or three players short at the moment.
What is key is that Chelsea hold onto as many of our star names as possible. I would expect one or two to leave if they become the subject of big bids from sides that will take part in the Champions League, that is to be expected, but if we can hold onto most of the younger established players, bring in the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a regular starter, then we will have half a chance with the addition of some quality.
Also, it would depend on who the new manager will be and if his transfer targets are happy to be without the Champions League for a year just to come and play for him and for Chelsea?
People are talking about Pogba, Bale, Vidal, Higuain and more but again, I think Chelsea would find it difficult to get any of those players.
If you were the manager and given £130m to spend this summer, who would you go out and buy for next season?
