Andreas Christensen is making waves in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach on loan this season and the German side are believed to want to make the deal permanent by offering Chelsea around 15m Euros (£11.9m) in the summer.
Alot had been said of Christensen before he had left Chelsea on loan with reported wages in our Academy of around £20,000 per week. This of course was not confirmed but it raised questions as to why he would be earning that amount of money if he wasn't anywhere near the first team squad?
Without knowing if the report is true or the full facts, it's clear that the club think very highly of him and to send him out on loan to the Bundesliga re-iterates the point clearly.
Loan signings are hit and miss with some players not being able to make their mark and force their way into the managers plans but for some, they are vital in their development and it's clear that Christensen has jumped at the chance and taken it with both hands.
So much so, Monchengladbach's Sporting Director was quoted as saying:
"Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer. Andreas fulfils everything we've seen in him. And we are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts."At 19-years of age, the young defender still has plenty to learn as he continues to develop the obvious talent that he has. You have to wonder what Chelsea would do if this report does actually have substance and the bid comes in for him?
With John Terry on the way out and this guy already proving his worth playing in Germany's top division, I just wonder if he would be given his chance at Chelsea sooner than most expected?
What do you think of him?
