With the current speculation surrounding the future of Eden Hazard, Chelsea are already planning for his departure according to press reports and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain has been identified as a possible target in the summer.
Now this isn't the first time "The-Ox" has been linked to Chelsea as previously reported here last season. Questions do remain however, as to whether or not Arsenal would be willing to do business with Chelsea? As we all know money talks and Chelsea would be likely to have plenty to spend if Hazard does leave at the end of the season. (If I was you, I would back odds of Chelsea spending big this summer or to check out offers for Double Bubble fruit machine)
I am interested in reading in the comments below peoples opinion of Oxlaide-Chamberlain because I like him. Do you think he could be the type of player to make much more of an impact at Chelsea rather than settle for a rotated position within the Arsenal team?
With any player purchase, I always look for someone to come in to improve what we currently have available or to at least put real pressure on the person currently playing in that position. You would hope they would then up their game and rise to the challenge of the new arrival fighting for the regular start.
Looking at Chelsea potentially without Hazard we have Willian and Pedro so for me the potential arrival of the Arsenal midfielder would be a huge bonus and I would start him ahead of the disappointing Pedro straight away.
Oxlaide-Chamberlain has the ability to go far in the game and possesses real pace to burn which gives in an advantage. He has an eye for goal, is skillful and most importantly of all, he is English and would bolster Chelsea's home grown numbers at the club.
I cannot see Arsenal entertaining the idea of letting him go to Chelsea are anyone else for that matter but you have to consider whether or not he would make YOUR strongest Arsenal eleven at the moment.
As I said money talks and Chelsea will have plenty of it this summer.
