Chelsea's search for a new manager this summer continues but now it's being reported that Mauricio Pochettino is a target for Roman Abramovich. What do you think of any potential move for the Argentine Coach?
It pains me to say it (it really does!) but Tottenham have a cracking side this year and ARE realistic title challengers! It's almost as if Pochettino has gone about his and Tottenham's business under the radar of most ever since he joined them from Southampton but what could be key here is his willingness to give youngsters a chance that makes him stand out.
Chelsea have been talking for years of doing the same but apart from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and the little involvement he has had in the first team, it's never happened.
Look at Harry Kane for an example of what Pochettino is prepared to do. He sees his ability, throws him in to the first team and gives him a run of games to settle down and now look whats happened to Kane since that moment, he will lead the line for England in Euro 2016.
Chelsea have Patrick Bamford and I am certain that given the chance to develop under Pochettino and given a run of games, he could have the same impact if he isn't sold first!
Think of what he has done with that Tottenham side since his arrival. He identified an issue up front and brought Kane in. He identified issues with their centre backs and has brought in Toby Alderweireld next to Jan Vertonghen and has sorted that area out. He identifies a weakness and resolves the situation to strengthen the side.
With the way he has Tottenham playing with attacking flair while giving youngsters a chance has he forced himself into contention above the likes of Diego Simeone? Do we think Daniel Levy would want to do business with Chelsea?
