Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He brought the Holy Grail to us three times - yes three times. 1955 was the last time before Jose came and brought a new mentality to the Blues. But watching us now, something is missing, something is wrong. These are the same players that won the title last year and this year look like relegation fodder. It appears as if Jose has lost them. Don't know how, and I don't know why, but relegation for us is unthinkable. We cannot and must not go back to the dark old days of being an up and down team. The players were uninspired tonight against Leicester. Matic, Costa and Azilpucueta were simply awful. If our experienced players cannot get motivated for such a big game then we have two options - play the kids and live or die by that decision, but at least we will get heart and desire, or secondly fire Jose. Bring someone else in before it is too late. Save our season - wait too late for that, but more importantly, save our Premiership status.
I fully expect vitriol and disparaging comments for daring to write this, but 9 defeats in a season and possible relegation means something needs to be done. It was not too long ago that we would not even have 9 defeats in successive seasons. Jose has lost the plot, and the players do not want to play for him. Look at Hazard tonight, limping off after a solid challenge. It clearly looked like he was not up for the fight.
Who can come in at this stage? I do not know. Who would want to come in at this stage? I do not know. But on thing for certain, those people who said do not ever react four defeats ago, must surely sit up and take notice. We are a poor, poor team, from the play on the field to the coaching off it. Like a favorite pet, who is sick, it is kinder to put them down and ease their pain. Well perhaps firing Jose will ease his pain and ours and we can steady the ship and see off this season mid-table and build again next year. I am done with watching such a pitiful effort on the field. I want heart and desire. I want blood, sweat and tears in the name of the Blues cause. I pay good money to watch, to support and my tears are now real. Firing Jose will make me cry, but they will not last, as I know his pain will also now be eased.
