Chelsea will be hoping to string together consecutive Premier League victories for the first time this season as the Blues visit Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho's side made light work of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League midweek, notching a comprehensive 4-0 win at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa, Israel.
Although Chelsea has managed to break its month-long Premier League duck at Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 victory over Norwich City last weekend, there's still plenty of work to be done if the champions are to take three points from an in-form Tottenham side in their own backyard.
Delle Alli is suspended for the hosts, while Alex Pritchard and Nacer Chadli are both out of contention due to injury.
Erik Lamela is a slight doubt given he missed Spurs' Europa League trip to Azerbaijan during midweek.
Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction
Lloris | Walker, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Rose | Dembele, Dier | Lamela, Eriksen, Heung-Min | Kane
Previous Meeting
1 March 2015
Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Jose Mourinho claimed his first piece of silverware in his second stint as Chelsea manager with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup final. John Terry opened the scoring on 45 minutes with a deflected strike after Willian's free-kick delivery fell to him after ricocheting among a cluster of bodies. A crafty Cesc Fabregas pass found Diego Costa, who made sure of the result when his shot clipped Kyle Walker to beat a wrong-footed Hugo Lloris at his near post.
Last Six Meetings
Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur (League Cup, March 2015)
Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 Chelsea (Premier League, January 2015)
Chelsea 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League, December 2014)
Chelsea 4-0 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League, March 2014)
Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Chelsea (Premier League, September 2013)
Chelsea 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League, May 2013)
Score Prediction
The Blues scraped by Norwich City at the Bridge last weekend to secure a first Premier League win since Aston Villa visited us in mid-October, and we followed it up with a resounding 4-0 thrashing on the road to Maccabi Tel Aviv in European competition on Tuesday evening. Under normal circumstances, we should be winning both those fixtures – comfortably. But given the troubles surrounding us this campaign, we're treating every three points like gold dust.
We find ourselves in a familiar situation this weekend. A trip to Spurs, who are currently fifth in the table, will (yet again) test whether we are on the path to stringing together some form of consistency, or heading for another confidence-shattering loss that enviably leads to questions over the future of Mourinho, certain players, and, most pressingly, our Champions League qualification prospects.
With this false dawn scenario becoming somewhat of a routine this campaign, I really don't know what to expect against Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino's men are in fine form having won five of their last six matches, and they'll certainly looking to knock us off with second-place on offer depending on other results this weekend.
Spurs are yet to taste defeat at White Hart Lane this season, meaning we have an extremely difficult task ahead of us. I think we would do well to get a 1-1 draw. What are your score predictions?
