Jose Mourinho has hit out at the mentality of people in this country after a manager has been sacked. Speaking about the reaction to Brendan Rodgers losing his job and Jurgen Klopp being appointed, Mourinho has hit out.
He said:
"You know, I feel sorry that somebody has lost his job.
It’s quite sad that football in this moment – and even in this country – is happy with it.
I’m not speaking about Jurgen, I’ve a good relationship with him and nothing will change that. I’m speaking about the circumstances that made Brendan lose his job. I don’t like people being excited that a new manager is coming.
I don’t like a player to say; ‘Now, we are going to give extra to prove to the new manager.’ Give to Brendan, not to the new manager!’
I don’t like this at all. It’s part of my world and I don’t like it. My world is changing so much. It’s getting worse.’
I guess you have to agree with Mourinho here. Why should a player who is a well paid professional be prepared to give his all for a new appointed manager and not the one he has previously played under?
OK, in some circumstances the player may never get on with the person in charge up to his sacking but you have to expect them to do the job they are paid to do anyway.
It's like you and I walking into where we work and not having someone we work with and not being prepared to do our jobs!
Some will argue that's football these days and I do understand that mentality even if I do not agree with it.
What do you people think about what Jose has said? Do you agree?
