IS THIS THE SIGNING OF THE SUMMER FOR CHELSEA??

The Boss signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea yesterday and as far as I am concerned, it's the signing of the summer. He stated "If the club is happy, I am happy" and believe me Jose, we ALL are!

He said:

“If the club is happy, I am happy. I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future – for the fans, the players and the club.

I said when I returned here two years ago that I have a special feeling for this club and nothing changed. It is the club closest to my heart and I am very happy to know I will be staying here for a long time.”

You only have to look at a quote this week from the Manager of our opponents Swansea, Garry Monk and what he has said of Mourinho to understand just how big this news really is. He said:

“Tactically he is one of the best managers in the league. He’s shown it all through his career but especially last season.

I watched a lot of their games and he is very clever in his approach and his team is so adaptable, they won in so many different ways. They can play in different ways, sometimes playing the best football, sometimes being defensive and it was brilliant to watch.

That’s modern day football, that’s why he’s won what he has – he’s the closest manager you can get to a guaranteed trophy, him and (Pep) Guardiola."

That's the whole reason he came back here. I've said it before, and I will say it again, Roman Abramovich realised after a period of time that football is now a results business. The pressure of success and the money in the game has forced people to change their approach and there is one man that delivers - Jose Mourinho!

We have read on numerous occasions that Jose Mourinho does NOT stay in his job with a club for longer than three seasons. After that, he is off for his next challenge. This news should finally put to bed any doubts people have about his commitment to our club.
