According to Mark Hughes and the subsequent reports that have followed, Jose Mourinho is keen to promote Victor Moses into the first team squad at Chelsea this season. What do you think about that?
Mark Hughes reportedly tried to sign Moses on loan again this season but was turned down. He said:
"Chelsea have taken a view on Victor and they would probably like to keep him. Victor did very well for us and showed in his time what he can offer and it could be that Victor plays a part for Chelsea.”I just wonder here if Moses IS the alternative if the Pedro deal doesn't come off for Chelsea? If not, why not?
Moses has vast Premier League experience and apart from hardly getting any games at Liverpool, he has done well at Stoke last term.
It's also important to remember that two summers ago, as Jose Mourinho made his return to Stamford Bridge, that Moses featured heavily in pre season and did really, really well. If anything it was a real surprise to see him being allowed to leave on loan.
I think this coming pre season is massive for players such as Moses. If he wants to make an impression again to try and force himself back into the managers plans ahead of Cuadrado, then he has to take the chance with both hands.
I have said it recently, but I can see Cuadrado being allowed to leave if Chelsea can recoup the fee they paid Fiorentina for him. Juventus are rumoured to be more than interested. If that's the case, Moses could be quids in!
Will will have to wait and see what happens but I do believe that Pedro because of everything he offers with and WITHOUT the ball, is the main target with Moses being the backup option if that doesn't happen.
What do you people think?
