According to a report in The SUN, Jose Mourinho has become increasingly frustrated at Chelsea's lack of transfer business so far this summer. I am wondering as the Chelsea fan reading this article if you feel the same?
Cast your minds back a year ago and Chelsea had their business done and dusted early well ahead of pre season training. Now, with only Radamel Falcao as a signing ahead of pre season starting next week, it's clear that Chelsea have a very different approach.
Look at what has happened so far and I personally believe our squad remains strong and more than capable of challenging for the title again even if no one else comes in. Drogba has been replaced by Falcao and Begovic is about to sign for Chelsea to replace Petr Cech. It's almost a one-in, one-out policy.
Jose has always talked each summer of looking to bring in three or even four players to keep things fresh and to improve the squad and I guess this is where this report has come from.
The window remains open for another six weeks so there is plenty of time for additional deals to be completed but you do get the impression that Jose and the Chelsea Board work really well together and if a deal is requested to be completed, the Chelsea Board will do their utmost to get it done as quickly as possible.
Plenty of names are ALWAYS linked with Chelsea and if you check you will see that most of them have been complete fabrication. Agents love this time of year as they look to bolster their earnings by creating rumour and uncertainty about their clients to get a better deal.
I personally am surprised at our lack of transfer activity so far based on what Jose Mourinho has stated about what he feels we need. I do back the manager and the club 100% and if they have re-evaluated things and believe that what we have brought in so far is more than enough to remain title favourites ahead of the new season despite the activity of our rivals, then so be it!
