I stated on this website a week or so ago that Falcao to Chelsea is a done deal. Although personal terms have been agreed it's seems that Monaco are making life difficult with last minute demands.
According to various reports Monaco are insisting that Chelsea send players their way but it's not clear if that is for permanent transfer or if they are looking to loan some of our first team squad members with a youngster or two thrown in.
We have recently heard that the player himself was more than happy to lower his wage demands to come to Chelsea and that seems to have been the case with personal terms being sorted out. We are yet to find out if he has agreed to half his reported wages at United however.
Most sources believe that a deal for Falcao will cost Chelsea in the region of £25-30m for a permanent move but this morning it now seems that the French side are trying to push through the deal as a loan move for a season with a fee being agreed this time next year. Clever from Monaco really isn't it. Think about it, Falcao comes here and has a fantastic season - what happens? Monaco raise their transfer fee.
It's obvious that the player wants to leave but Monaco want to try and make as much money as possible to try and re-coup their huge outlay upon signing him in the first place.
I just hope we can sort this out as quickly as possible one way or another. One thing is for sure, Roman Abramovich, Jose Mourinho and Chelsea are no mugs so it will be interesting to see how everything works out.
