DONE DEAL: The worst kept secret in football.

I have been saying this for weeks on here, Petr Cech was going to sign for Arsenal and now it seems we are just days for hearing final confirmation from the club.

There has been talk of Chelsea asking for a swap deal with a player from Arsenal but that was NEVER on the cards in my opinion. I personally believe that Chelsea did not want to seem willing to let Cech go without some sort of compensation to appease the supporters. 

The thing is, if you ask the Chelsea fans opinions, they will agree that after the length of service he has given to us, through the most successful period in our history, now demoted to number two behind Thibaut Courtois, he should be able to do as he pleases and if that means Arsenal then so be it. Most will agree. 

We have read that Roman Abramovich had given Cech special dispensation to do so. Why on earth has this dragged out for so long?

Some reports recently state that Chelsea are tying to sort out a replacement such as Rob Green (Who has already stated that he wants regular first team football so will stay at QPR) and now I'm reading Asmir Begovic but again, I cannot see that he would want to give up his regular football to play understudy to Courtois. 

In my opinion (for what it's worth) we should use this opportunity to promote Jamal Blackman to the official number two and give him the Cup games to start in which in turn gives him exposure to playing first team games.

I don't understand why we would consider anyone else when it's the European Championships next summer and any Goalkeeper worth their weight in gold will want to play regularly to be a part of it. 

Let's hope Blackman is promoted. As for Cech, let's just announce it ASAP and get it over with!
